Grand Canyon is one of the most spectacular places on earth. I've spent quite a bit of time there, and have barely touched on the vastness and variety of the place, let alone captured its essence in a piece of artwork. And still, I try. Lately, I've been thinking about the various threats to the place: overuse, overflights, mining, and development. These sacred places aren't automatically protected: that's our job.
This piece has an ultraviolet component. A special UV flashlight reveals the words, Under Threat, printed in photosensitive ink.
